About Us

Carsten Kullmann, M.A.

Since 2018, I am working as a research assistant at Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg, where I have also been accepted as a doctoral candidate at the Chair for Anglophone Literary and Cultural Studies. My PhD project focuses on contemporary urban fantasies and their negotiation of cultural anxities. In the summer semester 2020 I taught the seminar „Fantastic Cities“ which, together with Madeline Becker’s „Ecocritical Perspectives on Monsters and Monstrosity“, provides the foundation for this conference.
